by Corinna Kiefer
By illuminating the social question of identity in Europe, Corinna Kiefer’s work frames the positive and negative voices in comparison. As research has shown, the majority of people feel first and foremost connected to their home country and nationality before considering themselves to be European. The European identity is considered more distant, although we at the same time might feel European. There is a kind of contradiction in this conflict. Without offering a solution to this, as an artist, she reflects about the nature of the “we-feeling”.
